Data Collection Policy
It is important to remember that we are a cattery, not a marketing organisation. We don't do targeted advertising, we don't do mail shots, we don't even have a newsletter - we look after cats. We have a database (spreadsheet) that holds the cat's details because it is the cats that we are interested in.
WHY YOUR DATA IS COLLECTED
It is a licensing regulation that we hold the ownership details of cats that are boarded with us.
HOW YOUR DATA IS COLLECTED
On booking, you are asked to complete a booking form which contains the cat's details plus your details and your vet's details and a contact number to use in case of emergencies (which cannot be yours). The cat's details are transferred to our database along with the emergency contact and vet. The record is indexed by surname and unique number assigned to you. The booking form is filed and is only ever looked at when your cat comes into stay with us. The database entry is regularly updated with food preferences, medications, etc. and is used to create the guests cards for forthcoming stays with us.
WILL YOUR DATA BE SHARED
Shared, no. It is only compared with what your veterinary practice holds if the cat has to be seen by the vet. Otherwise, there is no access.
DO YOU NEED TO DO ANYTHING
If you are happy with the above you don't need to do anything. We cannot look after your cat without you filling in the booking form but if you would like it back at the end of the stay, that's fine. Just say as you bring your cat in. If you wish for another stay, you can fill in another form. Similarly, if you have previously boarded a cat with us and now wish for your booking form back just contact us and we will send the form off to the address that is on the form.
